Because of the American North’s disbanding, there will only be seven power conferences for throwball and swim sports next season (ACC,Arkansas Valley,AtlanticWest,Big 12,Big Ten,Pac-12,and SEC) with the pending founding of the Midwest Conference that former American North conference members can go to if they don’t find a new home.
Has a new divison format with North and South divisions. Here are the ACC squads for the 2019-20 throwball and swim sports seasons alphabetically by division.
Southern New York
No new members for the AValley for 2019-20 but they are in talks with multiple schools to replace Crossett.
Coastal (Is going to be renamed Asheville State on July 1,2019)
Southern Coastal (Is going to be renamed to Charelston State on July 1,2019)
Southern North Carolina
While the AtlanticWest was in talks with SLM,Dayton,Eastern Indiana, and Canton Bapist (all members of the disbanding American North) the conference decided to deny talks they had with each school because of their motto to stay from Washington DC and down. Thus serious talks between the four schools and the AtlanticWest never happened. The AtlanticWest finally found a school to replace the likes of Virginia State and Norfolk in UNC-Wilmington and UNC-Greensboro. The conference added Arkansas Baptist after they offered them in June in July.
North Carolina Central
The Big 12 added Little Rock and arch rival Arkansas State (or commonly known as UALR) to their conference for throwball and swim sports only.Little Rock has made it to the final four in three out of the last four seasons and have made the NCAA Tournament in swim sports the eleven out of the last thirteen seasons. The Big 12 also added former American North member Denver and WCC power BYU to the conference. For throwball and swim sports only, the conference will split into north and south divisions.
While being in talks with former American North members Dayton,SLM,Eastern Indiana,Denver, and Northern Cal,real discussion on future membership with the schools never happened. So the conference will stay the same headed into 2019-20.Talks have not begun on getting a new member for the west division for any school.
Talks with Gonzaga and BYU from the WCC and former American North members Northern Cal,Oregon-Cal,and Seattle State never got interesting,so the conference will stay the same.
No SEC interest from any school to the SEC
