College Throwball Roundtable

Who is your pick to win the national title?
Carter:Naples
With one of the best coaches of all time and 2 star guards on the same team I believe this team can redeem themselves from last year’s terrible post-season.I mean if Naples wins it all this year that’s 39 Championships and 151 championships overall for the AValley Conference.
John:Arkansas
Arkansas was one goal away from winning it all last year, and if their young talent can be great.Jonathan Williams in his last year wants to bring Fayetteville a championship before he heads off to the NTBL.There are lots of holes to fill on this Arkansas team, but young talent is what rounds out this team.
Phil:SLM
A solid pick to win the ANorth and a Carter Trophy contender in Josh Huff and a great supporting cast.SLM hasn’t won a ring since 2009 and this might be the year for SLM.
Which Top 25 team are you most skeptical about?
Carter:Dallas
Dallas is losing their best player in college history to the NTBL,and are at a rebuilding stage. They could drop from their number 8 ranking really quick.
John:Southern New York
SNY is in one of the toughest divisions in College Throwball and if they lose games early in the season this could be a down year for the Beavers.
Phil:Dayton
Dayton is in the same division as SNY,and your star player transferred, and SLM your rival is a contender for the national championship.
Which is the most up and coming team?
Carter:Virginia State
The Woodpeckers had a post-season to remember as they upset Naples and Dallas on the way to losing to Arkansas in the Elite Eight.James Norfolk and Emmanuel Randle both had great post-seasons as they won the Atlantic West Conference Tournament.Virginia State is looking good going into the 2016-17 season.
John:AGCU
Ted Saer the 3rd had a great season and post-season as he leed his team to the round of 32.Ted is a Carter Trophy contender and can clearly lead his team and school.
Phil:UALR
UALR made to the Final Four last year, and it’s looking like they can build off of that with their young talent.Allie Freeman,Harris Bethel are great Freshman guards who an lead this team with Seniors Roger Woods,Richard Woods, and Chris Johnson Jr.

Ranking the Conferences

Unknown
1.AValley
The AValley has been the best for years now with schools that bring great talent to their respective team. Those great team’s include Naples (38 Championships)Atlanta(32 Championships),Georgia Baptist (30 Championships),Dallas(33 Championships),and UT-Arlington (17 Championships). That’s 150 championships combined!Nobody can catch up to this conference in anything Throwball related! The South is where all the Throwball Talent comes from, and that’s just one reason why this conference is the best.
Favorite:Naples
2.ANorth
The ANorth was created by the same people who created the AValley.Although there’s much more talent in the South in recruiting.Dayton and SLM both have 25 Championships and Denver has 11.As the ANorth has produced 61 Championships. It is clear why they’re tied for the 2nd best conference in Throwball, they can recruit from the South.Somehow they can do it.Nobody knows how and why.
Favorite:SLM
2.SEC
The SEC has been a great Throwball Conference for years. With Arkansas joining the conference in 1992.Arkansas has won an overall 36 Championships and 16 in the SEC.Florida has 29 Championships,Alabama has 4 Championships, Missouri has 16 NIT Championships, and South Carolina has 15 NIT Championships. That’s 59 National Championships and 31 NIT Championships, and 90 Championships overall. The SEC can make a run to be a great conference.
Favorite:Arkansas
4.ACC
North Carolina and Duke have been the main producers for Championships in the ACC.North Carolina has 35 Championships and Duke has 17 Championships.Notre Dame the new affiliate member of the ACC in 2014 has 5 Championships. That’s 57 Championships. The ACC isn’t too far behind the SEC.
Favorite:North Carolina
5.Big 10
The Big 10 hasn’t been a great championship producer, but a great conference overall.Rutgers and Maryland joined the conference a couple of years ago,and John Hopkin’s came in before the start of last year as Maryland and John Hopkins have become good additions to the conference, but not Rutgers.Michigan St. has 16 Championships,John Hopkin’s has 13 Championships,as well as Maryland. The conference has 42 overall championships. The Big 10 has areas to improve as a conference, but they’re good as of now.
Favorite:Michigan State
