Breaking:Florida Atlantic Head Coach Josh Matthews takes Virginia State Offensive Coordinator job,head coaching search begins

Longtime Virginia State Offensive Coordinator Hughes Allen has been fired in Norfolk after seventeen seasons.Josh Matthews,the then head coach at Florida Atlantic,has taken that job over staying at Florida Atlantic.Matthews has been looked at by multiple power seven programs and now that FAU is a power seven program and Matthews was the head coach,why did he leave?He answered this on his twitter account today stating that,”I would like to thank the Florida Atlantic program,athletic department,and the whole Naples community for the time I had here.And despite being a power seven head coach,I would like to announce that I am stepping down to become the associate head coach and offensive coordinator at Virginia State,my alma mater.Thank you guys for the time I had here.I will never forget it.-Coach M”Head coaching candidates for the Florida Atlantic job include co-Arkansas OCs Mike Justice and Hall Hucks,Arkansas DC Anthony Justice,FGCU offensive coordiator Justin Price and Oregon DC Cameron Manning.
