Alabama Gulf Coast, Atlanta, Coastal (now Asheville State), Florida Gulf Coast, Fort Lauderdale, Georgia Baptist, Dallas, Eastern Miss, Missouri-Springfield, Naples, Southern Coastal (Charleston State) Texarkana (AR), Texarkana (TX), Texas-Arlington, and Western Miss accepted invitations to join the Big South.
2003
Huff College and Jones College accept invitations to join the conference.
2005
The Big South renames the conference the American South and rebrands.
2015
Southern North Carolina, Northern Oklahoma, and Northern Louisiana accept invitations to join the conference. The conference is renamed,and rebranded again. The conference’s new name was the Arkansas Valley Conference.
2018
Virginia State and Crossett accept invitations to join the conference.
2019
Coastal and Southern Coastal renamed Asheville State and Charleston State respectively.
2020
Arkansas Valley Commissioner George Hall announces split between the divisions, which would break into the “East Valley” and “West Valley” conferences based on their division names. The East Valley looks like this: Alabama Gulf Coast, Atlanta, Asheville State, Charleston State, Florida Gulf Coast, Fort Lauderdale, Georgia Baptist, Jones College, Naples, Southern North Carolina, and Virginia State. The West Valley looks like this: Crossett, Dallas, Eastern Miss, Huff College, Missouri-Springfield, Northern Louisiana, Northern Oklahoma, Texarkana (AR), Texarkana (TX), Texas-Arlington, and Western Miss.
