Blue bloods Oregon State, Oklahoma State fire coaches

Successful programs Oklahoma State and Oregon State both fired their coaches following disappointing seasons.

Oklahoma State announced the firing of John Potter following a one and done appearance in the NIT. Potter spent 12 seasons in Stillwater following his promotion from defensive coordinator. He led the Cowboys to three Big 12 regular seasons championships and three Big 12 tournament championships. They made just one appearance in the Elite Eight and just two into the Sweet 16. Potter, 52, is expected to be up for many defensive coordinator jobs.

Oregon State fired head coach Mark Matthews after eight seasons the team announced. The Beavers won two NIT Championships under Matthews but only made it as far as the Round of 32 in the NCAAs.
