AGCU, Fort Lauderdale name coaching replacements

Fort Lauderdale has announced former AGCU head coach Josh Wells as its new head coach, per TN Florida. Wells was Ft.LU’s arch rival, AGCU’s head coach the last seven seasons before getting fired a few weeks ago. He led the Bears to a Sweet 16 and an Elite 8 during his five seasons in Orange Beach. The two sides agreed on a three-year deal, putting Wells in Fort Lauderdale through the 2025-2026 season.

AGCU has named Wake Forest offensive coordinator Jack Charles as its next head coach. AGCU previously fired Josh Wells. It will be the second straight year where Wake Forest’s offensive coordinator left to take a head coaching position (Jonathan Wesselman was hired at Vanderbilt).

Although it was expected that they would hire internally, Tennessee has hired former Fort Lauderdale head coach Devin Rankin as its next offensive coordinator. Rankin was fired at Fort Lauderdale just weeks ago.
