Pre-2023 Off-Season Regionals Pressers: Many upcoming seniors announce official visit schools

At La Lumiere’s press conference, the top player in the upcoming senior class, forward James Randle, (#1PF, #1OV), announced his final five schools he will choose from for college. He will take final visits to Duke, Kentucky, Purdue, Tennessee, and UCLA. For the top to be junior in the country, Victor Evans (#1PG, 1OV), he is down to ten schools: Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Michigan State, Missouri, Ohio State, Purdue, Syracuse, Tennessee, UCLA, and USC.

For Hillcrest Prep, Dillon Powell, the number two ranked to be senior in the class, (#1PG, #2OV), is down to six schools. He will decide between Arizona State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and UCLA. Rising senior five-star wing Sean Johnson (#3SF, #7OV) is down to Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon State, Texas Tech, and Washington.

Location changes to “TN Titleholder Classic”, “TN Christmas Classic”, other TN invitationals extend contract, agreements

New York City was previously announced as the location for TN’s opening night event of the college throwball season, called the “TN Titleholder Classic”, including Arkansas, Michigan State, Little Rock, and North Carolina. Instead, the Big Apple will rotate with three other cities; Chicago, Dallas, and Indianapolis to host the event every November to open the season. The three will rotate through the 2029-2030 academic and athletic year until new teams will be selected for the event in the fall of 2029. In addition, the “TN Christmas Classic” will move on from just being hosted every season in Las Vegas. The event will rotate between Vegas and Atlanta. Just like the “Titleholder Classic”, new teams for the “Christmas Classic” will be announced in the fall of 2029. Here is the new schedule for both events through the 2029-2023 season.

TN Invitationals such as the Battle 4 Dallas, Battle for Gold (Los Angeles), Coastal Classic (Asheville), Events Invitational, Portland 4, Tropical Smoothie Founder’s Classic (Tallahassee), Se8ttle Classic, Show Me Classic (Kansas City), Atlantis Invitational, Great Lakes Classic (Chicago), Maui Invitational, Punta Mita Invitational, Rosemary Beach Invitational, 2K New York Classic, and Nantucket Classic will be extended by TN Incorporated from their original expiration dates following the 2024-2025 academic and athletic year to following the 2029-2030 academic year. The TN Cayman Islands Classic will be created in 2025. It will be played the Wednesday-Friday during Thanksgiving week. The Atlantis Invitational and Punta Mita Invitational will move from the Monday-Wednesday slate to join the Cayman Islands Classic on the schedule. It is expected that negotiations will resume to continue the events beyond 2030 in the coming years to join the “Titleholder” and “Christmas” classics which are already under contract through the 2039-2040 academic and athletic year.
