Dee Embiid’s father Thomas Embiid to create prep school focused on throwball in Kansas called Cottonwood Prep, school to begin in 2021-2022

Joel and Dee Embiid’s father, Thomas Embiid and some of his “business partners”, have decided to create a prep school in Kansas focused on throwball called Cottonwood Prep. The school will be located in Lawrence, Kansas just minutes away from the University of Kansas. Thomas Embiid says, “He doesn’t want another one of his sons leaving the Lawrence (or Kansas) area anymore” as to why he decided to found this prep school. Obviously, his second oldest son Dee Embiid left Lawrence High School for big time prep school Montverde Academy near Orlando, Florida before his senior season in 2019-2020. Embiid’s father also wants it to be “(Cottowood Prep to be) one of the top throwball schools in the midwest and in less then ten years one of the best in the country. Everyone expects Thomas Embiid’s youngest son Alex Embiid, class of 2025 to enroll at Cottonwood Prep for the school’s first year of existence in 2021-2022.
