Georgia fires head coach Chris Wilson

Despite many successful seasons in Athens, Georgia announced the firing of head coach Chris Wilson. Wilson led the Bulldogs to many tournament appearances late into the event, including an Elite 8 run in 2017.

The Alabama Athletic Department announced that it will not extend head coach Chris Plemons’ contract. The former Arkansas defensive coordinator will be entering his final season of his contract in 2022-2023.

Iowa State will move on from interim coach Andy Moore. Moore will head back to his defensive coordinator position and the Cyclones will conduct a full coaching search.

West Virginia has announced the firing of head coach Josh Wallace. Wallace never made it past round 1 at the NCAA Tournament. He spent his playing days at VCU before retiring from throwball, taking a grad assistant job at Virginia Tech before heading to take the forwards coach role at West Virginia. He was promoted over time to head coach and spent nine years overall with the program.
