Georgia announced Tennessee offensive coordinator Jack McDaniels as its next head coach today. McDaniels led one of the most successful offenses in the country as Tennessee’s offensive coordinator the last two seasons. The perceived top head coaching candidate entering the off-season played throwball at Arkansas, joined Fred Jackson’s Texas coaching staff when he was hired in 2017, and then returned to the SEC when he was hired during the pandemic by then new Tennessee coach Andy Fillion. McDaniels replaces Chris Wilson and Tennessee is expected to replace McDaniels within the program.
Iowa State named Iowa associate head coach Jake Jones as its next head coach. Iowa’s defensive coordinator had the Big Ten’s best defense four out of his six years in Iowa City.
West Virginia has announced the NTBL’s Charleston Hornets staffer Chris Walker its next head coach. Walker played his college throwball at West Virginia and was on staff from 2011-2014 before taking jobs in the NTBL.
